HLIS has a clear and vital mission of Lutheran education for all the people of Papua New Guinea, as well as to other South Pacific locations. HLIS is a school where Christian educators dedicate the next generation to the Lord. Students will learn the skills they need to be prepared for the challenges of tomorrow. The Mission Statement of the school is “Excellence in Education Guided by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

This site is dedicated to help support the work of Highland Lutheran International School in three vital ways:

  • Introducing prospective staff to the school, its students, and the opportunities that exist here for professional staff to make a difference in the lives of these students.
  • Introducing HLIS to prospective students — why you’d want to come to HLIS and what you can expect if you come here.
  • Introducing HLIS to people who might wish to help support the important mission of the school. You’ll learn what type of support is needed and how you can help meet those needs.
  • Worship is important for the students and community. Beside an English service each Sunday morning, HLIS now has a Pidgin Lotu and a Pidgin Sunday School for the community children. Ablaze in Action - Pidgin Lotu
